A friend of mine found this recipe and I thought you all might like it.

2 Cups oats (Quick oats work fine)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of salt
1/3 cup slivered almonds
1/4 cup honey (or if you don't eat honey, use 1/4 cup maple syrup and 1/8 cup raw sugar)
1/4 cup light olive oil
1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Drizzle honey and oil over mix and combine until evenly coated.

Bake Granola on a flat pan, stirring once, for 15-25 min, or until golden brown.

You just reminded me that I have some oatmeal here. What a great way to satisfy the cravings for sweet and crunchy!

Thanks for posting the recipe. I never thought of making granola, but I like the idea of controlling the amount of sugar and fat.

Does the olive oil just keep the granola from sticking to the pan or does it enhance the nutritional quality?

Thanks for the recipe it sounds really good. I am for sure going to try this. I like munching on things and something like this would be very good.

I love granola and this sounds like an easy recipe. I am going to give it a shot. I have the munchies for something sweet and this sounds perfect.

I really in all honesty don't see any enhancement with the olive oil. I just thought it mainly helped it to not stick to the pan.

I am such a big fan of granola and whole wheat grain! Do you have any more granola recipes?
