Does everyone here now that Bounty abuses animals for the sake of making a paper towel!! Why do you need to kill an animal for a paper towel. I don't understand any of this animal testing, for cosmetic purposes.

I've heard about it. And it made me realized that these kind of people are not environmental friendly. Or I guess they don't care about living things in this world. What's important for them is to have more sales and increase their business profits.

I had not heard this yet. This is just so sad that it all boils down to money like the above poster stated. Looks like I won't be buying these paper towels anymore.

I have not heard of this, but I am not surprised. It seems so many "leading brand" companies do pretty bad things because they think they can get away with it.
I purchase unbleached recycled paper towels. They are a bit more expensive, but worth the health and environmental benefits.

Cassie, Do you have any further detail on animal testing on this particular product? I am aware that the parent company does animal testing, but they make a whole range of products of which paper towel is just one.

I will do some research and see if I can find some info online. I know a couple of years ago I called the company and complained when I learned of this. I used to use bounty for my home made baby wipes, once I learned this I switched brands.

Bounty towels are made from Proctor and Gamble. Here is a statement from their policy statement, "Procter & Gamble wants ultimately to eliminate the need for all animal testing of products and ingredients for human use. We use non-animal alternatives whenever possible".
I will continue to find out about bounty specifically. I remember that they were in the process of trying to find alternatives to Bounty when I spoke with them a few years back.

Well I am glad to hear that they are looking into other alternatives. Wonder why they feel the need to test paper towels on animals to begin with?

I wasn't aware that Proctor & Gamble did Bounty towels... Looks like all P&G products are off my list and in terms of their statement that they use non animal testing where possible, there is absolutely no reason, with today's technology, that animal testing ever need to be done.

I have never heard of this. This is so uncalled for. For sure I will not buy bounty towels anymore. Whats next?

I don't necessary think that testing a paper towel on an animal would cause it harm. They may use them to check absorbency.

I think that everyone is leaping on this bandwagon without being certain that Bounty towels actually are being tested on animals! Yes, the parent company test on animals but I've seen nothing to indicate that they test on animals for this particular product. Other products in their range include shampoos, household cleaners etc. If people didn't realise that a massive organisation like P&G don't test these sort of products on animals then they are being rather naive, whatever the ethics of that are. There is an internet petition running just now asking P&G to stop animal testing across the range.

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't have thought about animal testing being related to the manufacture of paper towels.
Hopefully they'll soon stop.

Wow. I had not heard about this. I need to do some research. I think that it's terrible when ANY company experiments on animals.

I would have to see a lot more than just rumour before I would believe that they mistreat animals to produce paper towels. Lots of animal testing goes on, if people are interested in animal rights they should argue on fact rather than rumour. If what you mean is that the company tests other products on animals, say that. If we want to influence other people it is vital to be accurate otherwise we will lose credibility and people will not believe the many horror stories that should be publicised.

If that's true, I'll never buy Bounty again. If they used safe, eco-friendly materials, they wouldn't need to test on animals in the first place.
