View Full Version : What's the Best Thing about Being a Vegetarian?
What do you like most about being a vegetarian? Other than the health benefits, I like being able to eat sweets. My favorite part about being a vegetarian is that I have a chance to make my own creative recipes.

The satisfaction of knowing that you are leading a much healthier life without worrying about high BP, Heart problems, High cholesterol levels...etc.
Yes you can still get them if you are a vegetarian, but atleast the risks are not as greater as with non-veg diet.

It isn't something I have thought about much, but it is nice to be less concerned about things being stored correctly in the fridge.
No icky things in my food....like fat or gristle. I always hated that a lot!

I look 20 years younger than I am, I FEEL 20 years younger than I am. My friends that are all around my age are talking about how it hurts their knees to sit on the floor or to go hiking....or their back hurts...etc. Not me!
Doesn't it just feel like it's so much easier to get healthy? I feel like it's easier to lose weight, too. One day you're putting your clothes on, and you discover that they're too big.

So many things, like not worrying about fat, hormone or steroid intake, knowing that I didn't particpate in cruelty to a living thing, knowing that I'm getting lots of nutrients without having to overthink it or overplan

Well, of course, the health benefits. I can also enjoy food I take more even it's "not so tasty". I cook my own food and I really enjoy its freshness despite that I just put salt on it.

Being a veggie can cut out so much of those bad food stuffs as you eat much more natural produce.
I too like to experiment with flavours, and becoming a vegetarian has given me the more freedom to do that somehow.

The only time I "preach" vegetarianism to my friends is when they start harping about how hard it is for them to lose weight and how lucky I am to be able to constantly eat and be naturally slim. I explain that it's WHAT I eat that makes the difference and if they saw most of the previous generation they would understand that I am not naturally slender.

I never thought about being able to "eat sweets," as a benefit of vegetarianism, lol. But nice benefit.

That I can feed my family food that didn't come from a slaughterhouse ranks high on my list.
