I'm going to be a freshman in college and I became a vegetarian over 3 months ago and it has been great. A few days ago, i was on a weekend vacation with some relatives and we went to a buffet and everyone we were with said that vegetarians can eat fish, not knowing better, i had a very small piece of fish. When we got home today, i looked it up and found out that vegetarians cant eat fish. I not only felt dumb because of course fish is meat, but i also felt really bad. I tried telling myself that it was just a small piece at one meal, but i feel like all my good work these past 3 months is ruined. Is that how i should be feeling?
Eating a piece of fish doesn't reverse the fact you refrained for several months. I know it's hard to get your mind back where it needs to be, but don't let this get you down! Have a backup plan for next time. That will help a lot so you don't feel stuck.
